CHICAGO, IL – Wishlist Foundation is now taking pre-orders
for custom Pearl Jam related t-shirts, with proceeds to benefit the Northwest
Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and other charitable
organizations they support.
Originally created by fans Brad Laing and Brian Leslie,
the t-shirts were inspired by the guitar picks used by Pearl Jam band members
Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, Ed Vedder and Jeff Ament. The shirts debuted at
the Toronto 2006 Pearl Jam concert, inciting immediate interest from other
Pearl Jam fans. Based on this interest, Brad and Brian created more shirts and
donated the proceeds from the shirt sales to various charitable organizations,
finally deciding on the Northwest Chapter of the CCFA as the main beneficiary.
T-shirt
co-creator Brian Leslie was recently featured in an article about Pearl Jam in
Relix magazine. The article highlighted fan-involvement in fundraising,
featuring the t-shirts. Pearl Jam fans have a history of working for charitable
causes. In October of 2004, during Pearl Jam’s “Vote for Change” tour, fans
donated over food during a grass-root, word-of-mouth campaign in St. Louis, Missouri.
In 2005, $15,000 was raised for the CCFC and over $30,000 was raised for the
CCFA so far in 2006.
Pearl
Jam guitarist Mike McCready suffers from Crohn’s disease and has been an
outspoken advocate for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation for several years.
For a limited time, fans can visit the Wishlist
Foundation’s web site and pre-order Mike, Stone, Jeff and Ed t-shirts in any
size, color and quantity they choose. The Ed t-shirts are a new design just
added to the collection. Fans can also purchase terry wristbands and Got Guts™ bracelets.
The Wishlist Foundation is a Pearl Jam fan nonprofit
organization. Its primary purpose is charitable, out of love for and thanks to
Pearl Jam for their inspiring music. Its mission is to bring Pearl Jam fans
together for worthwhile causes while enjoying the music, friendship, community
and events that Pearl Jam inspires.
